- ItemAnalysis of the DESI and SNADR indicators’ evolution for information society(ICI, 2020-06-30) Tudora, Eleonora; Gheorghe-Moisii, Maria; Tîrziu, EugeniaThe evolution of the digital economy and society is reflected in an overall increase in the economic efficiency and improvement in all areas. It is essential that the progress of the digital society is constantly monitored for a vision of the implementation of the strategies pursued. This article presents an analysis of the digital society from the perspective of the priorities established by the National Strategy for the Digital Agenda 2020 following the stage of digitalization of the Romanian economy in relation to European trends. The paper presents the evolution of the Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI) indicators and of the National Strategy on Digital Agenda for Romania (SNADR) indicators between 2016 and 2019, highlighting the situation in Romania, providing a theoretical basis for strategic guidelines, as well as a comparation between DESI and SNADR indicators.
- ItemEvaluating web accessibility in eHealth: a case study on seven sites(ICI Publishing House, 2019-03-31) Gheorghe-Moisii, Maria; Tîrziu, EugeniaThis paper analyzes the accessibility of web content of medical platforms in accordance with the international guidelines established by W3C and the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI). The article presents the results of a May 2018 study on web accessibility for health sites. The evaluation was done on a sample of seven sites using an automated testing tool. The evaluation was performed on a sample of seven sites using an automated test tool - Total Validator. The study demonstrated a relatively low web accessibility of the analyzed eHealth websites and highlighted general accessibility recommendations.

Smart homes, which incorporate sensors, actuators and environmental and portable medical devices as well as modern communication technologies, can enable continuous and remote monitoring of the health and well-being of the elderly. Health monitoring is in line with current trends in the medical and social systems. The case study included in this paper presents a system for monitoring and assessing the health of the elderly in an intelligent environment. The major concern, in this sense, is to ensure optimal access to smart home technology for the elderly, aiming at the impact on quality of life, health and social involvement.

Therefore, it is important to have a reliable identification and tracking system to guarantee the safety and quality of food that reaches consumers. However, the current tracking technology market is restrained by many factors such as high cost, skepticism about efficiency and technology responsibility. This article provides an overview of the relevant food traceability technologies available on the market and a description of their characteristics. In order to contribute to the development and implementation of appropriate technologies, the concepts and implications of traceability in the agri-food sector must be well understood by consumers. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the importance of traceability technologies in the agri-food sector.
